Spring 2019
Mesa Arts Center, Creative Aging Engagement Program
Project commissioned by the Mesa Arts Center
With individuals with memory loss and their caregivers
Various fabrics and nets, bamboo, sticks, rope, twine, cords, paint, paper, ink
Over the course of two 4-week series of sessions, participants made sculptural mark-making tools, developed a personal mark-making vocabulary stemming from experimentation with their own tools, and created 2- and 3-dimensional artworks using rope. Collaborative structures ranged from individual dyad members working together to pairs of dyads to the entire group.
